Photo Essay Critique

 Essay #1

1. The essay was about the day in the life of the cal high xc team and there wasn't a name 

2. I liked the way they did the polaroid layout it was a very nice presentation 

3. The pictures all look very similarly composed I would have added some variation in the photo types 


Essay #2 

1. The essay was about life within quarantine by Kylin Chhay 

2. I liked the lighting of the shots and how she showed different aspects of her life 

3. I like the polaroid layout but I would change the green background as it doesn't fit with the photos very well


Essay #3

1. The essay was about a birthday party by Hannah Purnell 

2. I liked the presentation a lot, the pastel colors fit well with the brightly lit photos 

3. I think she took too many close up pictures involving kids, some candid pictures as well as some adults might've helped diversify the pictures


Essay #4 

1. The essay was about a day in the life by Cassidy Hink

2. I liked her variety of close-up and wide shots

3. I would have edited the low light photos to have reduced noise because it interrupts the clear shots in the rest of the essay.

Product Advertisement Photography 1. What do you like about your image? I really like the warm toned lighting and the detailing next to the word "sunshine" 2. What would you have done differently in your process that would have changed the outcome of the image? I would've chosen a different product to photograph or maybe changed the lighting to cool 3. What photoshop techniques did you use? I used Curves, Layer clipping masks, Color Dodge, Gaussian Blur, Spot Healing Brush, Cloning Stamp, Crop, and Gradients.

Motion Blur

I think all my images look relatively real as if someone took the picture with  long shutter speed ad moved the camera. With them motion blur I also made to copies of the original layer and decreased them to 50% nd offset them and erased where the original face is showing. I think doing this made it more realistic.
